In preparation for the 85th Session of the Texas Legislature, the Legislative Committee is collecting resolutions supporting the passage of legislation that supports a fair and equitable distribution of the sporting goods sales tax revenue for local and state parks and urging the legislature to require all TRPA funded projects be subject to the competitive scoring system established by TPWD. We would like to have all resolutions approved and received by December 14. A sample resolution is attached. These resolutions are an effective way to notify our elected officials on the support and importance of the Parks & Recreation Industry. Please encourage the departments in your region to bring the resolutions to their elected officials for consideration. As the State's budget tightens, we need to encourage our members of the Legislature to support the Park funding and to remind them of the commitment made during the last session to improve our State and local park systems. All approved resolutions should be sent to Jerry Bark at firstname.lastname@example.org
